A Message From The LGOA

Today, older South Carolinians and their families, and other adults with long term care needs, face a complicated array of choices and decisions about long term support, income security, housing, health care, and other social services. Finding information when it is needed can be challenging and time-consuming. To make informed choices, people seeking services need access to resource information that is easily obtained, comprehensive, and up-to-date. SC Access has been developed to improve the ease with which people are able to identify and receive the supportive services they need to maintain the greatest independence possible.

SC Access is a free and confidential service of the Lieutenant Governor's Office on Aging. The initial development of the SC Access database was made possible through a grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in the US Department of Health and Human Services. Partial funding for the Information and Referral Specialists is provided by the US Administration on Aging.

SC Access is a new service. The number of agencies and services included grows each day as we expand the database. If you are aware of a resource not yet included, are a provider whose information needs to be updated, or have suggestions on ways to improve the SC Access site, please e-mail us at: scaccess@aging.sc.gov.

Our goal is to provide useful information that enables people to make informed choices.

Welcome to SC Access!
