Description of AgencyThe City of Charleston ADA/Mayor's Office on Aging has three main functions: 1) to advocate for the senior population in the Charleston, SC, area and affect the adoption and implementation of public policies and procedures which will increase longevity and protect the dignity and independence of seniors; 2) to answer questions and provide information about services available for seniors in the area; and 3) to monitor local businesses, buildings, facilities, etc., for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
