The mission of the Hampton County Veterans Affairs Office is to thoroughly and expeditiously provide individual client assistance to all Veterans, their dependents or survivors.

The department assists with filing applications for Education Benefits and Free Tuition Program for certain war veterans' children.

This office administers services that were set by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, including research, preparation, development, presentation and prosecution of claims submitted to the VA Regional Office in Columbia, SC, Philadelphia, PA, or the Board of Veteran's Appeals in Washington, DC. Additional services include training/certification, benefits' briefing and counseling.

Though state mandated, the Veteran Affairs Office is county funded.
