Medication & Drug AssistanceIn partnership with several drug stores, the Coastal office provides vouchers for clients to pick up much- needed prescriptions. This service is particularly helpful for our older clients who are on fixed incomes and unable to cover co-payments. Some people find that their budgets will not stretch to include both food and prescription medicines. The staff help individuals determine their eligibility and assist their applications for the programs that the pharmaceutical companies have for the poor. Medication & Drug AssistanceThe Together Rx Access Card can allow approximately 51 million uninsured individuals and families - approximately 90 percent of the total uninsured population - to access a broad range of prescription medicines and products at a savings through an easy-to-use card. The Together Rx Access Card is free (no enrollment costs, monthly dues, or hidden charges) and is accepted at the majority of pharmacies nationwide and in Puerto Rico. Cardholders simply bring the Card to their pharmacist along with their prescription, and the savings are calculated right at the pharmacy counter. Cardholders can save 25% to 40% on more than 300 brand-name prescription products including those used to treat high cholesterol, diabetes, depression, asthma, and many other common conditions. Visit the website listed below for the most current list of brand-name medicines and products. Savings are also available on a range of generic products. The companies participating in the Together Rx Access Program include: Abbott Laboratories; GlaxoSmithKline; Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Janssen Therapeutics, Division of Janssen Products, LP; LifeScan, Inc.; Ortho Dermatologics Division of Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Pfizer Inc; Stiefel, a GlaxoSmithKline company; Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc.; ViiV Healthcare; and Vistakon Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Participating companies independently set the level of savings offered and the products included in the program. Those decisions are subject to change. In addition, the Together Rx Access Program directs individuals to the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA), a clearinghouse for more than 475 public and private assistance programs, including 200 offered by pharmaceutical companies. Those who are eligible for the Together Rx Access Card may qualify for additional savings on prescription medicines, or even free medicines, through other patient assistance programs in the PPA. The PPA also connects people with free health clinics in their community. NOTE: Eligible individuals can continue to enroll in the Together Rx Prescription Savings Program until December 31, 2013. To help cardholders transition to other programs, they can continue to use their Together Rx Access Card at participating pharmacies until February 28, 2014. After this day, savings will no longer be available with the Together Rx Access Card.Together Rx AccessTogether Rx Access
