    Medical Appointment Transportation5 Points Wheels is a transportation program that is staffed by volunteers, managed and administered by the Lourie Center. The program provides transportation on a 14-passenger, lift-equipped bus for seniors and adults with disabilities who live in downtown Columbia, SC, to any location within the same area (see 'Territory' below). Bus operates 9:30am - 1:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The service has no set fee; riders make a suitable donation for each trip.     Medical Appointment TransportationThe National Patient Travel Center (NPTC) provides "how to get there" assistance for any patient needing to travel to a distant (within the continental United States) specialized medical facility for evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment. Patients served are those who cannot afford the cost of long-distance travel for medical care. The NPTC acts as the clearinghouse for Mercy Medical Airlift, Angel Flight and Children's Angel Flight. If staff are unable to assist, they will refer patients to other resources. The National Patient Travel Center can provide non-commercial travel for flights less than 1,000 miles.
